A FUNNY THING HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I PASSED A TESLA PICKUP TRUCK

Whoa Be to Toyota Who Now Manufactures Tesla Pickups?

Not too long ago in my small village of Eyereis, County Cork, Ireland, my friends and I were having a pint in our local Pub. Looking up at the TV, we all saw Musk take a stage brandishing a chainsaw. All of us laughed at his wild antics.  

"Sure, there be a Leprachaun with a Chainsaw!" one shouted as he downed his pint. "God above us, lads! That Musk Man wants to saw my brand new Tesla in half!" Running out the door, we saw him climb in that very Modern electric car and try to start to Electric Engine. After a moment, he ran back into the Pub again. "There be anyone here who has a long extension lead?" he asked us as we sat back and smirked into our Pints. "That wonderful, expensive car of mine hasn't a bit of electric juice left!"

Which is a lesson for those living in Rural Areas. In Eyeries, we have only one charging station, and that's in Castletownbere, about 8 km from where we all sat. It's a very sad truth - until an electric car (something big enough to carry more than 2 people and a small box filled with groceries) can travel the same distance as my relatively new Ford Ranger Pickup Truck, then God Help all of us! While the technology of Tesla is now up to scratch, an elecric car or truck versus a Brand New Hybrid or Old Fashioned Petrol or Deisel car or truck doesn't make the mustard. Yet Musk persists with Brand New Technology that will eventually work, even on the New Modern Pickup his company has created.

But wait! What about Trump? Now that Musk serves as an unelected President of the United States, no one at all wants to buy his cars or trucks anymore. So what's the use of a chainsaw to fire US Federal workers or Retired Military Personnel in the Untied States? And what about those Tarrifs, Lads?

"Damned if I'm gonna pay another cent for a Pint!" a friend of mine shouted. "The price of a Pint is already too much. But those T-things from Trump and Musk? They'll be the ruination of all Pint drinkers around the world!"

And so it is true, those of you who read this. Trump / Musk will have their day, but most of us have our own chainsaws. We usually use them to cut down small trees or to cut larger logs up into firewood. Trump and Musk will Win This Day, perhaps. But when I'm running as President of the United States in the next Presidential election (and no, I won't), don't be surprised if the first thing I do is to REINSTATE everyone who has been fired without cause. I'll then buy me a brand new, or slightly used, Toyata electric truck. With all of those savings we'll all have, I'll then roll back all tarrifs on Ireland and the world, and buy a number of Pints for all the lads in Eyeries, in the United States and around the world.
